Hey Sean
I tried pushing my prop further than what I was landing around last week, + adding feedback I got from you and others. I'm gonna try to bring 2 more thumbnails by saturday to pick one for class. :D
2nd Update:
2nd Update:
Here's my 2nd pass, I tried painting a bit and adjusting to the tune of some of the feedback you gave, hopefully this is working better. I tried to sketch out 2 more thumbnail ideas however I really struggled with both of them, especially the first one.
First idea being they're descending a woody-ish hill into a town behind the palanquin in the distance.
2nd idea just the general spooky / dramatic illustration
3rd idea is the king half lit on the palanquin as they are entering a castle or something.
FEEDBACK:
Hey Julien,
Here's a quick paintover of few potential ideas - i'll just bullet point them generally:
- adjust perspective on some of the teeth so the skull feels a bit more 'rounded'
- adjust perspective on some elements like on the chair to feel a bit better
- give the side of the jaw back some more form possibly as its a bit flat
- more interesting shape to back of the jaw
- add shading to ground the skull
